BIG Screen Star!

It seems that Steve Alten's book The Loch has been optioned for the big budget treatment in Hollywood.

I read the book at the beginning of the summer. It was a good beach read. It wasn't too cheesy. It wasn't too heavy. It included just enough real science to make me feel like I learned something when I finished, and hadn't just fed myself braincandy.

I think it could make a good movie with some decent special effects. Of course, the Loch Ness Monster has never been big box office. The last U.S. movie about Nessie starred Ted Danson. Ted Danson? There's a draw. There's a U.K. movie that's more recent. I haven't seen it, but it sure sound good. Then there's this piece of trash that somebody cobbled together.

And here's another one.

Oh, heck. I should just be excited about Jackson's King Kong, and not hold out any hope for a decent Nessie movie.

I thought Nessie looked lonely without any comments.
