Some of those files are probably just the report forms turned in by civilians. There are these forms pages long that you can fill out if you observe something. The forms ask you to diagram the object(s) along with the position of the sun and your line of sight. I suppose the complexity of the forms helped to weed out some of the "deliberately deceptive" material too. If they were to realease these files, it's possible the media would make another stink about wasted tax dollars.

I saw a commercial on TV promoting an upcoming episode of some show about aliens invading...maybe it was Threshold. Anyway, it announced the episode would be the exciting birth of the "first alien born on earth". Being born here, wouldn't that make him/her/it a natural citizen, therefore he/she/it is technically not an alien.

HME, you are absolutely right about that. I totally missed that particular butchering of the English language by the fine folks who bring is Threshold. I was probably too busy staring at Carla Gugino. But not only would this notional baby be an American citizen, it would also be a Terrestiral, not an Extraterrestrial. It could still, however, be a Wookie, as that is the species' name.

Kooky!
