Movie Heores

I finally saw Batman Begins. I thought it was stunningly good.
But the American pop culure is notoriously fickle. Already the question is, "Who will the next great superhero movie be about?"

Some people think it will be Wonder Woman. And there is much speculation about who would play her. My money is on this rumor.

Others think it will be Ghost Rider.

They're planning a live-action Transformers movie.

I demand to know where my GI Joe movie is!

I'm taking votes for what the next great comic book movie ought to be.

I though you would enjoy "Batman Begins" despite not being entirely historically accurate.

Who should play Wonder Woman? Katie Holmes..no way. Cameron Diaz..why? Why would she make the list. Who has the right stature to be Wonder Woman? Kim Bassinger, or a handful of other actress models, nope. I like Claudia Black But she's not mainstream...still like her though.

Next comic movie?.... Aeon Flux with Charlize Theron as AF. She made the Wonder Woman list but this got her cut. She has the lines.

Anyone who expects a comicbook movie to be "historically accurate" has problems. I simply wanted to use the film as a "teachable moment" about ninja. Is that so wrong?

Almost forgot...
Joss Whedon is directing Wonder Woman, and he likes to use and reuse the same actors -- sort of like James Cameron, or Robert Rodriguez. So that gives Morena an inside track on getting picked to play Diana the Amazon Princess.

We could probably do worse.

I mean really, Nicholas Cage as Ghost Rider?

And I still want my GI Joe movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son has a couple GI Joe movies on DVD. Have you seen them? They are animated. Would that appease your GI Joe fix for now?

Morena might work if you were going to do a Smallville version of Wonder Woman meets "Ella Enchanted"....

"Ella Enchanted?" Ouch.

All I'm saying is that Joss tends to be reasonably predictable in his casting. He looks to familiar faces. He also like petite, but emotionally strong, women.

If you're the kind of person to insist on matching the comic image of an Amazon, then maybe you need to start suggesting athletes who want to cross over into acting.

And no. I saw all the original Animated GI Joe stuff in first run on TV. I have tried to blot it out from my memory. I'm looking for live action, baby. Snake Eyes vs. Storm Shadow in Wire-Fu. Scarlet, Lady J, and the Baroness played by miscast super models. Ving Rhames as Roadblock. That's how I roll!

My husband will be pleased to hear about the Transformers movie. My pick for Diana is Catherine Zeta-Jones. Also, I'd like to put a vote in for the Wonder Twins for the next comic book movie...but it seems Warner Bros. has already made it. This comic craze is going to fizzle from oversaturation. I had a friend who was really obsessed with the Green Lantern and always insisted on 'being' him during gaming, even in Star Wars. Everybody thought it was so stupid and would relentlessly attack him, poor guy.

JRF - Are you looking for "Predator" style with GI Joe character names?

Why not your earlier blog cheesecake for Wonder Woman? Tiffani Amber Thiessen

TA-T? Sure, why not?

Catherine Zeta-Jones, too. But I think she's too big now.

This has been posted for a couple of weeks now, and I never noticed my typo in the title. How embarassing.

Tommy Arashikage, I'm delegating you to spot all typos from now on and publicly chastize me by throwing shuriken at me for every misspelled word.
